So here I am again! Just sitting in a Berlin hostel recovering from a bit of a brutal hangover, figured I'd throw an update at you guys.
So I've been in Siena, Italy for 3 months, learning Italian and discovering that I'd rather die than be a real artist. So I'm going into history and anthropology.
Anyhow, Italy is great, if a little more backwards than Germany. Berlin, that is. The rest of Germany really hasn't tickled my fancy quite as much as Berlin. Long nights singing 'Like a Virgin' with girls form my old high school, being chased by wasted punks, eating Doeners in X-Berg, hanging out at the Mauerpark and just hanging out with kids who all speak 5 languages, have traveled around the world and know more about US geography than I do. Pretty great, and a helluva lot better than the hicks you find in Bavaria.
So this last week a friend of mine and my twin ~thirdwaltz (who lives in Munich) began a trek from the Brauehaeuser in Munich to Nuernberg to Dresden to Berlin, setting off bomb alerts in Dresden, meeting pseudo-neo nazis in Nuernberg and spending the night in jail in Munich for not having a passport, but also drinking beer brewed by Bavarian monks in the Alps, visiting world famous castles, partying with German high school friends and just getting to soak up the greatest city of all time, Berlin.
So in the end, it's all been good, good, good.
I really want to know how all of y'all have been!
